Writing Center: Ibid. & Shortened Notes

Rules

(See 9th Edition Turabian 16.4.1 - 16.4.2)

When citing the same author throughout your paper, you have the option to use Ibid. instead of repeatedly writing out the author's information in the footnote. It's just a shorter form of the footnote to say "I'm using the same author as before." Just simply change the page number for the new footnote.
